"Israelis are resilient." It's a phrase heard after every crisis—a compliment and, sometimes, a burden. But what does resilience actually mean? Mental Health First Aid Israel is redefining it.

Resilience is not the absence of distress. It is not stoicism, toughness, or bouncing back unchanged. True resilience is the ability to feel deeply, seek support, and grow—not despite pain, but through it.

MHFA Israel encourages communities to release the expectation of invincibility. It's okay to struggle. It's okay to ask for help. That is resilience in its truest form.

A nation that acknowledges its wounds heals faster than one that hides them.
