Every week, new cohorts of volunteers enter MHFA Israel's training rooms. They come from all walks of life—teachers, taxi drivers, retirees, students—united by a desire to help.
The training is rigorous: 12 hours of instruction covering crisis recognition, nonjudgmental listening, suicide awareness, and self-care. Role-plays, group discussions, and real-world scenarios prepare participants for the complexity of human distress.
But the training is also transformative. Participants often report that learning to help others has helped them process their own experiences.
MHFA Israel's vision is a nation of first responders—not just for bodies, but for souls.
